#TrainForLifeEmpowermentCampaign Post 51: ZEN - Ever find yourself pulling into your driveway and not remembering the drive home? Our brains can default to auto pilot quite easily and before you know it the day is over. Alan Watt's definition captures the essence of the word Zen beautifully. "Zen is liberation from time. For if we open our eyes and see clearly, it becomes obvious that there is no other time than this instant, and that the past and the future are abstractions without any concrete reality.” I think of Zen as that sacred space suspended between the past and the present. The hard part is being fully present when you are there. Try practicing an intentional 3 minute pause this week before an important conversation or meeting or before making an important decision. It is a great way to get grounded and you might like what you experience and the outcome. Bonus: Pausing is good for your mental and physical well-being.
